I've been lucky enough to have travelled the world, filming in over 100 countries with the Australian travel TV show Getaway. I recently had an incredible week in Park City, Utah for the first time and want to share my top five must-do experiences when visiting this epic part of the world during the ski season. Whilst in town, I had the pleasure of staying in one of Park City Lodging’s premier town homes, Lakeside 1629. Located in Deer Valley at the resort’s Snow Park base and just a five-minute drive to Historic Main Street, it’s the perfect spot to base yourself while in town.  The condo has a spacious living area with a cosy fireplace, and large bedrooms, spread across three levels, complete with an outdoor balcony and views of snow-covered lakes. Next time, I’ll be back with a group of friends and family to really make use of it all because it sleeps up to eight guests. It was such an awesome place to come home to after an action-packed day hitting the slopes. There’s everything you need to help you relax, from the outdoor heated pool and sauna  to everyone’s favourite - the hot tub!

5. SKI WITH AN OLYMPIAN AT DEER VALLEY RESORT

Number five is an experience you can share with someone who has actually achieved greatness in the history books. I was lucky enough to ski the slopes of Deer Valley Resort with none other than two-time Olympian Jillian Vogtli. Fun fact, Park City was also the host of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, so skiing the same runs used in the Olympic Games makes you feel like an Olympian!

4. GIN EXPERIENCE

At number four, I have the gin making experience at 350 Main, which changed my whole outlook on gin. I have never known much about gin but let me tell you this is something you need to try once in your lifetime. I learnt all about the history of gin in a fun and intimate setting with Alpine Distilling in Park City’s historic old town. The best bit? You actually get to create your own concoction during the process. Using a variety of herbs, botanicals and citrus I produced my very own personalised gin. Plus, while you wait for your gin to distill you can also indulge in a delicious four course dinner at the restaurant upstairs, 350 Main. That's what I call a two for one activity! Whether you want to educate yourself in the world of gin distilling or simply take a break from the slopes and warm up from the inside out, this experience is a must!

3. SNOWMOBILING

Coming in at number three is snowmobiling, a must do if you’ve been itching to tick it off your bucket list. Imagine shredding through the snow with the wind in your hair and the sun warming your face, it's honestly just so exhilarating. You can experience this one for yourself or enjoy a snowmobile adventure with your loved ones. It’s just one of many activities on offer at Summit Meadows Adventures, Park City.

2. DOG SLEDDING

Cue the cutest experience that you could ever have in Park City. I’m talking about an adventure that I was lucky enough to have with some new furry friends. Dog sledding is something that I have always been fascinated by and wanted to try ever since I saw the movie ‘Snow Dogs’. Riding the sled pulled by rescue sled dogs (usually Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Huskies, and Alaskan Malamutes), is an indescribable feeling - which cannot be compared to any other experiences. Try it for yourself with All Seasons Adventures.

1. DINNER IN A VIKING YURT

Bringing me to my number one experience in Park City, which has to be having dinner in The Viking Yurt. It all starts with a snowcat ride that takes you up Park City Mountain where you’re greeted with soaring views of the surrounding mountains, the sparkling town and glittering night sky, before you’re dropped off at the mountaintop Viking-themed yurt for dinner. Dining at an altitude of 2,600 metres, this is a Nordic fine-dining experience that takes you to new heights, literally! The minute you walk into The Viking Yurt you are instantly transported to another time and place - decked out with Viking memorabilia and traditional décor, the yurt is cosy with a buzzing atmosphere  You’re then treated to a six-course candle-lit dinner accompanied by a pianist, drinks galore and the friendly cheer of both diners and staff. This is an experience you must try with a loved one or the family when you visit Park City, Utah.

Sports enthusiasts can hit the slopes and loved up couples can cosy up  in The Viking Yurt for a special date like no other. Park City, Utah offers a range of exciting and once-in-a-lifetime experiences for every type of traveller, no matter your lifestyle or fitness level.
